Burrows brace sends Blades back to Championship summit

Harrison Burrows' brace sent Sheffield United back to the Championship top after a 2-0 win over Norwich City at Bramall Lane.

The full-back struck in each half as the Blades leapfrogged Leeds United, who play rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Burrows broke the deadlock midway through the first half by controlling a clear space on his chest before firing home via both posts.

He doubled the lead and sealed the points from the penalty spot just before the hour mark, after Sam McCallum was fouled by Ben Chrisene.

Elsewhere, new West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray watched from the stands as they drew 1-1 with Midlands rivals Stoke City at the Hawthorns.

Grady Diangana canceled out Nathan Lowe's earlier strike in the hosts' final match under caretaker manager Chris Brunt.

Watford moved level on points with sixth-placed West Brom as goals from Imran Louza and Edo Kayembe sealed a 2-0 win over Derby County.

Meanwhile, Matt Bloomfield's tenure at Luton Town started with a goalless draw against Preston North End, leaving the Hatters locked in the relegation zone.

Portsmouth moved above the Hatters to 22nd on goal difference after Matt Ritchie's brace saw them come from behind to beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at Fratton Park.
