Moises Caicedo said it would be a dream to win the Europa Conference League title prior to Chelsea's the semi-final collision of the first legs to Djurgarden on Thursday.
The Enzo Maresca team goes to the 3arena to face the Swedish outfit, hoping to place a foot in the final of May, which takes place in Wroclaw.
Chelsea came through the competition phase and scored a tournament-high 26 goals in the first phase of the competition and continued their dominance in the knockout rounds.
The blues then defeated Copenhagen 3-1 to total in the round of 16 before they fought along Legia Warsaw, with their 1-0 defeat in the second stage their first loss in the competition.
Both previous victories in the knockout rounds have seen Chelsea in the first stage, something that Caicedo believes that the key will be to continue to the final.
“We know that every game is difficult, so we will go in with the mentality that the opposition will be difficult, but with the desire we want to win,” Caicedo said.
“We will do everything in this game, everything. We know that they will be a very heavy opposition, especially on their ground.
“So we have to do things well, play our game, and I am sure we can take a victory home.”
Chelsea is the clear favorites to win the competition and win the tournament in 55% of the simulations of OPTA guided by OPTA.
They have a chance of 91%to continue to the final, where their likely opponents are Fiorentina (52%), which are confronted with real betis (20%), in the other semi -final.
Caicedo has had to win a great honor since he exchanged Brighton for Chelsea in 2023, but said he would fill a lifelong dream to lift a European trophy with the blues.
“Winning the conference competition would mean a lot to me,” the 23-year-old emphasized.
“It is a European title and every player dreams of winning European titles.
“And, well, everyone at Chelsea is convinced that we can win, if we work hard enough, and we know it will be very difficult, right?
“There are still a few steps left to win, but we will give everything to win that trophy.
“I am at stake for the game to get going, because it would be my first international title. So what I want the most is to win and devote it to God and my family.”
