The division may be on the shallow side today, but that does not mean that heavyweight is not still full of generation talent.
From Randy Couture and Brock Lesnar to Daniel Cormier and Francis Ngannou – the UFC Heavyweight Division has seen its quite part of superstars come and go.
Undoubtedly one of the best heavyweights ever participated in the Octagon is a former double champion Cain Velasquez, so what does the Californians think of the two Juggernuts who are currently shared joint custody of his old title?

Former UFC champion Cain Velasquez talks Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez recently came to Tim Kennedy to talk about everything, from his life outside the Octagon to what it feels like to win championship gold.
At one point of the conversation, Kennedy Velasquez greeted as the greatest heavyweight to have ever decorated the UFC atrocation corner – and then asked how he would be honest if he would ever stand up against Jones or Tom Aspinall.
Instead of predicting who would win, Velasquez simply recognized that both fights would be razor-close: “I think they would be close fighting or exciting fights.”
Kennedy added that a Prime Velasquez versus a Prime Jones would have been the greatest fight in the history of the division – the former champion responded in kind: “I think so too.”
But what about Jones vs Aspinall itself?
Well, in conversation with Ariel Helwani earlier this year, Velasquez shared a definitive prediction for whom he thinks the victory would claim in that heavyweight unification.
'I don't think [Aspinall wins] … everyone has a pattern. Some people disguise it better than others. The way Tom comes in and fights, he has a pattern that is somewhat easier to fight.
“When he comes in and attacks, it is 100 percent, full-go, slips inside, lunges in and makes his attack. Not that it is not effective [because] It is, he did great things with it. But one thing about Jon Jones is … I think he defeats him as a result. “
Tom Aspinall admits that he 'bored' of talking about Jon Jones
Tom Aspinall spoke with Jamal Niaz earlier this week and was asked how the fight with Jon Jones would come out; With the British Juggernaut who acknowledges that in heavyweight MMA everything can happen.
'It's hard to say … I might be eliminated [the Jones] Fight. Heavyweight MMA, you can't plan too far in the future … it's not about being modest, it's just about being realistic.
“Two boys, both huge, wear both small gloves, everything can happen … I think my talent is better than someone else's, but I am also realistic. One of us has to lose, and there are two of us there. So we will see.”
Given that he claimed the interim -heavyweight title all the way back in November 2023, it is no surprise that Aspinall is frustrated by constantly talking about 'bones'.
“I've had enough about it,” Aspinall admitted.
“I'm really bored, we'll see what's happening – I'm ready to fight when they tell me [so] Let me know, I'll be there. “
Bloody Elbow recently spoke with the training partner of Aspinall about the Jon Jones fight.
