
UFC Heavyweight Legend Cain Velasquez fulfilled a long dream against one of the most intimidating men in the world of UFC 121.
Cain Velasquez is often skipped in the heavyweight goat conversation. In the midst of the rise of top names such as Jon Jones, Stipe Miocic and Tom Aspinall, the name of Velasquez is not as much as it should be about discussing the great heavyweights of all time.
Velasquez was a physical copy during his MMA Prime. He had everything you would like in a heavyweight hunter; Elite wrestling, a punch knockout power and a ruthless pace that few opponents could keep track of.
The then 8-0 Velasquez earned a heavyweight title shot after the collapse of the legendary Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira in a first round of TKO finish on UFC 110. Next was a confrontation with one of the most feared men in MMA History, Brock Lesnar.

Cain Velasquez has closed the dominant run due to a heavyweight division by finishing Brock Lesnar
Lesnar and Velasquez wasted no time to get to the UFC 121 Main Event afterwards. Velasquez conquered an early left hand and Takedown from Lesnar to turn the script into the fight for a few minutes.
Lesnar seemed visibly gassed after not arranging Velasquez on the ground after two successful removal. Velasquez found his timing with his striking, making Lesnar bad and put him under pressure against the fence.
Velasquez surprised the crowd by bringing Lesnar down and opening a nasty cut on the face of the heavyweight champion from a right hand. A stumbling lesnar ran backwards over the Octagon and led Velasquez to hurt Lesnar badly with a knee to the body that brought down the title holder.
Velasquez closed the deal with brutal ground and pound strikes to become the first Mexican hunter of the UFC who won a world championship. His victory paved the way for Brandon Moreno, Yair Rodriguez and other modern Mexican stars to rise in mixed martial arts.

Velasquez suffered a knockout loss in his next fight against Junior Dos Santos before bouncing back against Antonio Silva with a wild finish. After an end of his UFC career, Velasquez Lesnar removed a shocking WWE appearance years later.
Velasquez was recently asked how he would match with Aspinall and Jones during his MMA Prime. Although he recognized the promise of Aspinall, Velasquez claimed that Aspinall has a visible pattern that he would operate in the Octagon.
Velasquez was a top candidate for induction in the UFC Hall of Fame before recent legal issues. He withdrew from MMA with a 14-3 professional record in the cage.
