Arsenal floated on Thursday evening about a different potential injury short after one of their stars had had an uncomfortable fall in international duty.
Riccardo Calafiori looked to injure his left knee after he had not slipped out of Germany by Germany in the 92nd minute of the 2-1 Nations League Quarte final.
The defender immediately held his knee and had to get away for some of the game, leaving Italy with 10 men behind.
Now the Gunners will wait anxiously for the results of testing and hope that he will not become a member of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Raheem Sterling on the treatment table.
Calafiori has already spent four separate spells on the sidelines this season because of beating.
The issue of his left knee is particularly sensitive after a devastating injury when he was 16 in Roma, where he tore all his ligaments in that knee and there were fars that he would struggle to even walk.
His very first tattoo – 'never give up' – grabs back to that period of his life.
After his last potential setback to Germany, Italian manager Luciano Spalletti said: “He said his knee feels strange, but cannot answer exactly than that, so we have to see it.”
Asked how serious the blow is, Calafiori replied: “I still don't know.”
Calafiori, 22, had tried to change direction when he lost his foot and fell on Thursday evening.
He was able to walk away independently after being seen by the Italian physios.
It is still to be seen whether he will be in action on Sunday in the return bone against Germany.
The next match of Arsenal is against Fulham on April 1 and they will be confronted opposite 8 and 16 April in the quarter -finals of the Champions League.
