Canelo Alvarez snubbed Gennady Golovkin when naming shocking pick for the hardest hitter he’s ever faced

With a stunning 67 pro fights under his belt, Canelo Alvarez has collected a wealth of high-level experience in his career.

The Mexican star is an incredibly impressive technician, but he also brings enormous power to the table, where Alvarez has a number of devastating knockouts at its peak.

He has put this power to the test against many iconic opponents and his next outing on September 13 is another chance to do that exactly.

Alvarez ranked Terence Crawford higher than the only two men who have defeated him, which shows how much respect he has for the skills that 'Bud' possesses.

Crawford is a very impressive Finisher, even if he is not known to release people with one shot, but Alvarez is certainly no stranger to dangerous opponents.

Canelo Alvarez mentions James Kirkland as the most difficult batter he has confronted in his career

In what will probably be the only trilogy of his career, Canelo Alvarez Teen went to toe with Gennady Golovkin in 2017, 2018 and 2022.

Although he was no longer at his best by the time they met for a third and last time, Golovkin was one of the most feared punchers in the world on his way to his first war with the Mexican superstar.

He withdrew after his last meeting with Alvarez and ended his career with a total of 37 knockouts in 42 victories.

Despite the remarkable power of 'GGG', Alvarez does not believe that he, or one of the other iconic legends with which he was confronted, was the most difficult batter he came across.

When he spoke with Golovkin at a press conference before his trilogy, he responded to a question about the most difficult batter he is confronted by James Kirkland as his surprising answer.

Kirkland registered 30 of his 34 victories through Knock -Out and was dismantled by Alvarez in just three rounds when they met in Houston, Texas in May 2015.

'Kirkland. It was incredible. I feel that punch here [tapping his arm]I had something like: “Oh my God.” “

Canelo Alvarez and the finish statistics of Terence Crawford compared

Given that Terence Crawford goes to super middleweight on September 13 for his upcoming collision with Canelo Alvarez, many will expect the Mexican to have a power benefit.

'Bud' has continuously increased due to weight classes and although Alvarez has done the same, the difference in size between them can be a huge factor on Fight Night.

That said, although there are other factors to consider the way the opponents are and in what weight class they were, Crawford has a much higher finishing percentage in his career.
