Liverpool could say goodbye to Caoimhin Kelleher, considered the world's best back-up keeper, this summer with Leeds under the Premier League clubs that are interested as Ireland manager Dringt at his NO1 to find regular playing time
Caoimhin Kelleher was encouraged by his national team manager to leave Liverpool this summer, with the Ireland's Heimir Hallgrimsson who says: “He is too good not to play.”
Kelleher has continued to make a good impression when he is called to deputivate for Alisson Becker and is currently generally considered the best second choice top in the world.
But with just over 12 months left on his contract and Giorgi Mamardashvili who arrives from Valencia this summer, it seems more likely that the 26-year-old Kelleher will go new to the meadows for the following season as the first choice.
It was previously reported that Liverpool wants £ 40 million for Kelleher and Leeds United are the newest club connected to a movement after they have sealed their return to the top flight.
Newcastle and Bournemouth belong to the clubs that have been connected to him in recent months and Ireland Chief Hallgrimson said: “I just want Caoimhin to go to a club where he will play. He plays at the highest level,” said Hallgrimsson.
“Champions League, Premier League, very well done. I just want him to be happy and play regularly. I don't mind where he goes as long as he plays regularly, he is too good not to play.”
Laverpool confirmed last summer that they signed Georgia star Mamardashvili, but he would spend this current campaign in Valencia before he arrived at Merseyside. It is unclear whether the move was made with Kelleher's future in mind or not.
This season, Kelleher has made 20 starts in all competitions for the Reds, including 10 in the Premier League, but they are supplied with Alisson that are put by an injury.
And head coach Arne Slot repeatedly said this season that the Brazilian will continue as his first choice.
Since Sunday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal in Anfield, in which departing Trent Alexander-Arnold was booed by thousands of fans, players and employees of some downtime-inclusive lock on the way to Ibiza, where he was depicted with Wayne Lineker in his O Beach Club.
