Captain America makes career first… but not one he wanted

The USMNT star came in this match for Milan against Torino with a record of 100%, a statistics that permanently changed thanks to Milinkovic-Savic.

AC Milan's Champions League elimination by Feyenoord seems to have had a negative impact on the team, because the side of Sérgio Conceição appears to be trapped in a state of footballing shock. Even some of the biggest names of the team have not been immune – including Christian Pulisic.

On Saturday, Milan traveled to Torino in Series A's Matchday 26, and they were quickly on the back foot after an error by Mike Maignan. It was not the only mistake of the competition for the Rossoneri, because Pulisic also staggered under the growing uncertainty that the team pursued.

In the 33rd minute, the USMNT captain and no. 11 from Milan had a golden chance to deliver the score – but missed his penalty. It was a historic moment because it marked the first penalty Miss from Pulisic's entire career.

Before this game, Pulisic had been flawless of the place and all 12 of his previous criminal attempts for club and country had converted. With Milan alone, this was the fourth penalty he had taken – the first Miss after three successful strikes in Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana.

Pulisic's perfect series for the Miss

Of the 12 penalties he had previously scored, 10 came to the professional level, about his club career and his time at the USMNT:

In addition, Pulisic had converted two penalties at youth level one for the American U-17s against England and another during his time in the Borussia Dortmund academy.

His first career Miss now contributes to Milan's recent misery, while the team continues to struggle after their European exit.
