Carlo Ancelotti's last message to Real Madrid in 2024 contained a clear point for Kylian Mbappé.
Ancelotti's side have already secured their first title of the season when Mbappe scored in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca in midweek.
They are still firmly in the La Liga title race and are strongly tipped to secure a knockout podium spot in the UEFA Champions League.
However, despite the overall positivity, Ancelotti knows his team needs to do more and improve consistency.
Mbappe's arrival in the summer was heralded as the final piece of Ancelotti's attacking puzzle, but he still falls well short of expected levels.
Goals in the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup finals were highlights, but he scored just two in the Champions League and nine in La Liga.
Ancelotti outlined his position on the situation, telling the France international that his time to act has come.
“His adjustment period is over. He has shown a good version and can still improve. He has recovered well from the little injury he had,” he said ahead of Real Madrid's last match of 2024.
“He is motivated, excited and happy to be here. He needed that period, everyone does, but it's over.”
