
Carlo Ancelotti is not illusions about the task with which Real Madrid is confronted in the LA Liga title race.
While Rivals Barcelona returned from the international break with a 3-0 midweek victory over Osasuna-Moest Los Blancos in their own comeback.
The charges of Ancelotti were forced to dig deep to achieve a late 3-2 victory over Leganes via a Kylian Mbappe-Double in the capital.
That moves Real Madrid back level with leaders Barcelona with the Catalans holding at the top location because of a better head-to-head record.
However, Barcelona can continue tomorrow through a positive result against Girona, but Atletico Madrid lost further land in a 1-1 draw in Espanyol.
All three will have nine league games after the weekend -with Atletico Madrid now six points behind the title defender of Ancelotti -but the Italian thinks they will still play a major role.
“We didn't play a bad game [against Leganes]. We lacked balance, but we had control. Did we suffer? I can't remember a game where we didn't struggle, “according to reports from Marca.
“Atletico Madrid will fight to the end, because that is what a professional team does, and they are a very serious team. They will fight the way we want and Barcelona.
Diego Simeone has already suggested his view of the last five games of the season that decides who wins the title and his side only plays one top half team in the run-in.
Real Madrid and Barcelona will be against Catalonia on 11 May in a game that could give the balance in both directions.
All three are still involved in the semi -final of Copa del Rey, where Barcelona goes to Atletico Madrid on 2 April and organizes Real Madrid Real Sociedad the day before.
As part of a busy April, Real Madrid and Barcelona restarted the UEFA Champions League campaigns also Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
