Carlo Ancelotti makes ‘world’s best’ claim over in-form Kylian Mbappe

Carlo Ancelotti is confident Kylian Mbappe will play a crucial role in the second half of his debut season at Real Madrid.

Mbappe scored 12 goals in La Liga as Ancelotti's side cruised to a 4-1 home win over Las Palmas, while Los Blancos regained top spot.

A two-point lead gives Real Madrid a significant advantage as the focus now shifts to the UEFA Champions League before the end of the month.

Mbappe is making continued progress in Madrid after an injury-hit start to the 2024/25 season, and Ancelotti believes the fans are now seeing the best of him.

“Mbappé is the best striker in the world, even though there were doubts whether he could play in that position. He is a great striker who feels very comfortable in the center rather than on the wing,” said Marca.

Mbappe has scored just two Champions League goals since arriving in Madrid last summer, having reached 50 goals in the competition by the end of 2024.

The 25-year-old is currently eighth on the UCL all-time list and will be hoping to rise to sixth as Real Madrid look to defend their title in 2025.
