Carlo Ancelotti sends out clear message amid leaked doubts from Real Madrid
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has a reputation in Spain for having one of the most likeable and entertaining press conferences, which is why it is so noticeable when he changes his tune. When questioned about Vinicius Junior's injury, Ancelotti showed a much steelier side.
The Brazilian forward will miss the next three weeks due to a hamstring problem. On Tuesday, Ancelotti was asked whether he should have given Vinicius more rest. “I have made 1300 positions, no one can doubt me,” was the rather blunt answer from the Italian.
According to Cadena SER, part of the reason for this is due to internal doubts at Real Madrid, which tend to find their way into the local press. Ancelotti feels that when something goes wrong or results deteriorate, despite his success, his decisions are immediately questioned. His words at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Liverpool were his way of getting his work out on the table.
Ancelotti is well aware that there is very little job security in the Spanish capital, but he has never enjoyed the iron-clad support that the likes of Zinedine Zidane or Jose Mourinho received during their time at the club. Rumors persist that they want to replace Ancelotti with Xabi Alonso sooner rather than later.
