Manchester United is interested in signing Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba and the seagulls reportedly want more than £ 100 million for the highly rated 21-year-old
Brighton demands € 120 million (£ 104 million) for Carlos Baleba, where Manchester United looks at a movement for the midfielder. The Red Devils have contacted Brighton via Baleba, but are aware that a deal can be unrealistic this summer.
United has spent more than £ 130 million this summer to bring in Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon, while Benjamin Sesko completed a relocation of £ 74 million to Old Trafford after entering the VK for a medical one.
Ruben Amorim, however, hopes to continue to strengthen his team and the United Boss is a big fan of Baleba. According to ESPN, Brighton has set an asking price of £ 104 million for the 21-year-old.
The report states that both United and Manchester City are interested in Baleba and claim that the movement of the Red Devils for Sesko will make it 'harder' for them to sign the Cameroon International.
Van Baleba is also said to be happy to stay in Brighton for a different season, with a big step that is more likely to do next summer. When Baleba leaves Brighton, he becomes the newest player who earns a large moving movement after he has impressed the seagulls.
Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Joao Pedro have all been signed by Chelsea in recent seasons, while Arsenal has previously robbed Brighton for Ben White and Leandro Trossard.
Alexis Mac Allister has become a Premier League winner after leaving Brighton for Liverpool, while Tottenham spent about £ 30 million to sign Yves Bissouma. Baleba has impressed his three seasons in Brighton, after he was signed in 2023 from Lille as a replacement for Caicedo.
When asked about the future of Baleba, Paul Barber of Brighton told BBC Sussex: “We have a great talent, there will always be interest in our players. Manchester United has not had any contact with me.
“So from that point of view, speculation is speculation. We will always try to ensure that we sell our best players at the right time, not just for the player, but for us. If we do that with a player, it is with the view to leave Fabian [Hurzeler] With a very competitive team, whatever happens.
“We don't want to sell our best players. Carlos is a fantastic talent that has for many years for him. We hope he will be here for many years to come. But it is something that, as always, is subjective to the dynamics of the football world that is not always predictable.”
