UFC Welterweight Competier Carlos Prates did not have to wait long to get a new fight booked after he was forced from UFC 314.
Carlos Prates may not get the pay-per-view spotlight in his next UFC booking, but he gets the following best thing: a UFC Fight Night Main Event and a huge step in competition.
Prates had to end up with Geoff Neal later this month in a matchup between two UFC fan favorites on UFC 314. But only a few weeks before the event Neal withdrew because of injury, and Prates was removed from the card and did not get a short -name replacement opponent.

Garry has not fought anymore since he has his first career defeat against Shavkat Rakhmonov on UFC 310 in December, albeit in a short-notice affair.
Prates and Garry will end up in a matchup between two of the best young talents of the UFC Welterweight Division, with a potential title shot in sight for the UFC Kansas City winner. The two good weights are also two of the best strikers in the division, as evidenced by some of their recent knockout victories.
For his first UFC Main Event test by switching Neil Magny on the UFC Apex in November for his first UFC Main Event test succeeded. Before he completed Magny, Prates defeated the will of Li Jingliang and Trevin Giles in the Octagon after earning a contract through the Contender Series of Dana White.
