One of the most exciting emerging contenders in the UFC has already made his intentions clear.
In the main event of UFC 314 on 12 April, Alexander Volkanovski wants to win back the featherweight title when he faces Diego Lopes in front of the vacant belt.
The return from the Octagon to Miami is stacked, even after the card has lost one of the most exciting matchups between Carlos Prates and Geoff Neal.
The prates of Brazil will now appear in an even larger place when he is in the main event on 26 April in Kansas City opposite Ian Machado Garry.
If the Fighting Nerds -athlete is able to achieve another big victory, it can be at a moving distance of a title shot after an electrical start of life in the UFC.

Carlos Prates spoke with Belal Muhammad through the cage after he had eliminated his teammate
Carlos Prates was one of the 2024 breakout stars after the Alum of the Contender Series of Dana White produced four knockout victories and bonuses after the fight.
His debut came in February, where the dangerous striker Trevin Giles stopped at the UFC Apex to announce his arrival in the Welterweight Division.
In his second outing, Prates went to Louisville, Kentucky, where he met Charles Radtke who had recorded back-to-back victories in the Octagon.
Both men landed a similar amount of important strikes, but it was clear that the Brazilian was the more dangerous of the two and he started to have fun there when the first round went on.
After a clean right left with another 20 seconds over the clock, Prates taunted his opponent before he followed a pathogenic knee to the body that Radtke crumbled for the walk-off knockout.
The VFS Academy teammate of the American, Belal Muhammad, was in the corner that night, a month before he challenged the title of Welterweight.
Prates posted a video on his Instagram that showed Mohammed's reaction at the end of the fight when 'The Nightmare' went to the Welterweight candidate and told him through the cage that they will meet soon.
Carlos Prates can put his name in the mix with a victory on April 26
Carlos Prates vs Ian Machado Garry is not only a phenomenal collision of styles, it is a big fight for the Welterweight Division.
The Irishman may get rid of a loss, but his stock climbed demonstrably after his close game with Shavkat Rakhmonov on UFC 310.
Because Prates is the most popular new competition in 170 pounds and Garry are a hunter who pushed Rakhmonov like no one else, a victory for both man on 26 April would be great.
Belal Muhammad is not a shortage of challengers at the moment, but both Prates and Garry know how to let people talk, so that one of them will not be too far away if the dust settles in Kansas City.
