Carlos Prates’s Mom sends her son a cold message ahead of UFC Kansas City headliner

UFC Welterweight Competier Carlos Prates received some fighting advice from his mother a few days before UFC Kansas City.

Carlos Prates is one of the many budding stars in the UFC Welterweight Division. For the second consecutive fight in his young UFC career, Prates will head a card when he takes on Ian Machado Garry in Kansas City this weekend.

Prates would return to the Octagon on UFC 314 against Geoff Neal earlier this month, but Neal withdrew due to injury. Instead of finding prates, a short-notice replacement opponent on UFC 314, prates was promoted to the Headliner spot in UFC Kansas City opposite Garry.

Although Prates it looks relatively easy in his UFC career so far, his mother has not been worried about it in Brazil.

Carlos Prates's mother throws a new game plan for UFC Kansas City Main Event

Prates is one of the many prominent names from the Fighting Nerds MMA Gym in Brazil, with people as a featherweight star Jean Silva and rising middleweight Caio Borralho. All three are about to have potential UFC title shots after dominant runs so far in the Octagon.

Prior to the greatest fight of the life of Prates, he received some cold words of encouragement from his mother.

During a recent episode of ESPN's UFC Journey series, Prates received a surprise meeting from his mother and argued for a quick night in the Octagon.

“Do not give the opponent the chance to play too much. Do you understand? And to finish the war quickly,” said Prates' mother.

“The way Mama likes it, with a perfect finishing touch!”

Fortunately for Prates's mother, Prates usually finishes his opponents quickly, as evidenced by recent victories over Li Jingliang and Neil Magny. But Garry proposes a formidable test for the starting prates, and the two have some bad blood for fighting evening.

Garry started the pre-Vecht chatter with prates by labeling the Brazilian 'not a fighter' for UFC Kansas City. It wasn't long before Prates hit back after he accused him of a fake hunter.

Prates brought things to a notch when he shared a brutal honest theory why Garry has just been set up to head his first UFC Main Event fight. He also Bashed Garry because he had not finished poorly compromised Magny when they fought at UFC 292.

The tensions are warmed up for UFC Kansas City while Garry and Prates may want to earn a title shot with a show-stop finish.
