Jamie Carragher believes that Arne Slot could refrain from a maximum of five Liverpool players that he does not 'judge' this summer.
In his first season, the Dutchman seems to be leading the Reds to the Premier League title, after he has followed the legendary manager Jurgen Klopp in the past term.
Since his arrival, Slot has only done two signing sessions, although neither Giorgi Mamardashvili, on loan in Valencia, or Federico Chiesa, largely absent due to injury, have contributed this period.
Nevertheless, Liverpool is on track to claim a record-similar 20th title title after the victory of Sunday of Manchester City has sent them 11 points from the second place Arsenal with 11 games to play.
Former Reds -defender Jamie Carragher believes that Slot has shown his preference for certain players as the season continued and trusted an increasingly condensed group. Carragher thinks that the Anfield club will see the ways with a large number of first team players in the summer transfer window.
“What I would say is, and it's an exciting thing for Liverpool, Slot hasn't really bought anyone,” he said at Sky Sports. “They bought Chiesa at the last minute to cover Salah when he was injured. He will know this team much better to enter the next season and if I am honest, he once used 14 or 15 players.
'There are probably four or five players in the team that he does not assess. I am not critical, but he probably thinks I now know what this team needs.
'While this team continues and the competition title is going to win, I still think there are three positions in this team that can be improved quite a bit.
'I think Liverpool can bring back a left, a center ahead and an attacking midfielder, players who enter the team and then perhaps certain parts of the team. That is quite exciting because you would imagine that Liverpool has money to spend. '
After the victory against City, Slot insisted that his side was not dragged along.
“There is no secret. We are 11 points clear, but Arsenal has one game in hand, “he said. 'The best attack we had had not ended in a goal. You must always adapt to the challenge you have.
'A week ago we experienced how difficult wolves were at home. It will always be difficult games, like today.
'It's easier for us not to become enthusiastic because we know what to do. This result was more about defense than about attack. It is normal for fan bases to be positive and it is important to understand why we are where we are. '
Liverpool welcomes Newcastle in Anfield on Wednesday evening, while Arsenal is confronted with a tough collision in Nottingham Forest.
