Casemiro offered unlikely MU exit option after suffering three transfer blows

Casemiro could still leave Manchester United this month, despite closing the Premier League transfer – with Brazil appearing as an unlikely option for the midfielder.

Speculation continues to rotate around the future of the 32-year-old at United after interest in the January transfer window. Despite possible movements to Roma and Al-Nassr, Casemiro remained in Old Trafford beyond the transfer of deadlines in Italy and Saudi Arabia.

In recent weeks, the Turkish club Besiktas also emerged as a possible destination. However, that movement is off the table after the transfer window is closed on Tuesday.

Yet the window will remain open in Brazil until 28 February, and Flamengo has followed Casemiro, who has seen less action this season under Ruben Amorim.

Through Manchester Evening News, reports in Brazil have suggested that the former Real Madrid star could leave united before the end of the month.

It is hinting that United may be open to a loan movement for Casemiro to secure regular minutes. However, his wages could be an obstacle for interested clubs – where Casemiro was understood to take home around £ 375,000 a week.

Flamengo is reportedly prepared to take Casemiro on loan, but only if United covers most of his salary. Since Amorim took over in November, Casemiro has only made eight performances for United – with 24 times throughout the season.

Amorim claims that the limited playing time of Casemiro is simply related to 'selection'.

He stated: “We know that Casemiro nowadays has different qualities. He is intelligent, understands the game and knows where the ball will be. But we are in a competition where there is a large intensity difference.”

“That is why I feel that our team needs high intensity players and sometimes we don't have them. We all know the qualities of Casemiro and everything he has won, so I have nothing to add to it. It's just a selection choice. “
