His current Club United is currently 16th in the Premier League and failed to pass this period past the fifth round in both domestic cup matches.
But Casemiro is proud of his efforts, where United still retains hope for European silverware and qualifying for the Champions League 2025-26.
“This was one of the seasons that I think I feel most proud of myself, because it was a long time ago that I have experienced a moment like this, where the coach does not count on you, but you continue to work,” Casemiro said in an interview with ESPN Brasil.
“Of course you want to win titles, but one of the most successful seasons of my career was this without a doubt. For turning things, with hard work and dedication.”
The 33-year-old had searched for an exit in January after he got out of favor with Ruben Amorim after his appointment in November, but he managed to make his way in the main coach's plans and scored in both semi-final legs of the Europa League against Athletic Bilbao.
Those were his fourth and fifth goals of the season in all competitions, while he characterized 40 times for the club during the campaign.

“I can only thank him for his words because Rio Ferdinand is one of the idols here at Old Trafford. We see the affection that the fans have for him and without a doubt it is a source of pride,” he said.
“This season is undoubtedly a source of pride. And even more, with the moment I experience,
“I think people don't stop playing football, people don't forget how they can play football in three or six months. And it is definitely a source of pride for me to hear that from a club idol, my idol, someone I admire and respect.
“I think, regardless of criticism, because there is criticism in football, if it is constructive criticism, honest criticism, I think it is acceptable.
“But I don't think a lack of ways is acceptable. This man was one of the people who always respected me, always had an enormous affection for me, so I think I just have to be grateful, I just have to be grateful. I am very proud of my season this year.”
