Celtic is set on a famous evening under the Parkhead lights when they first return to the Champions League knockout stages in more than ten years.
Neil Lennon was in charge the last time they passed the group phases to tackle Juventus in 2013.
Bayern Munich stands between the hoops and a place in the last-16, a side Brendan Rodgers lost at home and away group phase matches during his first spell that was in charge.
Both can be giants in their domestic competitions and clearly clear in the Scottish Premiership and Bundesliga, but the German side has six European Cup/Champions League titles for Celtic's.
While Vincent Kompany's side warmed up for their journey to Glasgow with a 3-0 win against Werder Bremen, Celtic continued their Scottish Cup defense with a 5-0 win over Raith Rovers.
It was a result that followed the convincing Premiership victories against Dundee and Motherwell and Rodgers is convinced that they can find ways to hurt the German side on Wednesday evening.
“I don't doubt that we can. I think we have goals. I think we have shown at all levels of competition, whether it is at home or inland, we can score goals.
“We know that we are playing against some fantastic players and a team that is top of the competition and a high confidence in one of the top competitions. But here it will be supercharged on Wednesday evening, 60,000 souls will be with us and we 'I will take the Energy from that.
“We will do what I have always said. We will try to make it really difficult for Bayern and see where the game brings us.”
How big will a Miss Maeda be?
The Scottish Cup hat-trick from Daizzen Maeda brought him to six goals in seven days after the start of the Center-Forward when Adam Idah was equipped.
The Japanese winger has now scored 50 goals since he came to De Hoops in 2022, including three in the Champions League group phases of this season, but they will have to do without him this week after his late red card in their defeat at Aston Villa In their last group in their last group agreement.
He has been the key for Celtic this season, but with Jota who probably starts in his place, it is not a bad replacement by the Portuguese winger on a goal and an assist of his three performances since his return to the club.
There is also Idah, who recently established his scoring form. The striker has traced back-to-back Premiership matches, this season has three Champions League goals and it was returned by young boys to secure progression.
Will Celtic remain unbeaten at home?
Celtic has impressed this season at home and are unbeaten in Parkhead in all competitions.
There is no doubt that Bayern Munich will be their most difficult test so far, but Rodgers has often pointed to the “mental resilience” of his players and there is no doubt that trust will be high.
The side of Kompany finished nine places and three points above the hoops, with their three group cutting layers – against Aston Villa, Barcelona and Feyenoord – on the road.
Celtic suffered two defeats for a group stage, both road, against Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa.
