Charles Oliveira reveals return timeline and opponent he is targeting next… ‘He said he would fight me too’

A few weeks away from his devastating knockout loss on UFC 317, Charles Oliveira has unveiled his fans when he hopes to return to the Octagon.

On 28 June on UFC 317, Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira collided in the main event for the empty lightweight title after Islam Makhachev left the division.

Topuria continued to separate Oliveira from consciousness in the very first round, became the new champion and continued his legendary run in the promotion.

After his loss, 'Do Bronx' was closed by Paddy Pimblett who called him an 'amateur' and interviewed his game plan for the fight.

Charles Oliveira did not know what had happened on UFC 317

After having had such a huge KO, Oliveira was advised to take six months to fully recover, but the Brazilian has a different idea.

Speaking of his loss, Oliveira admitted that when he woke up in the middle of the octagon, he did not know what had happened because he was never eliminated.

“No (I didn't understand what had happened), I asked them several times what happened, what I was, what night it was,” Oliveira began to explain in an interview with AG Fight.

“It upset me, it made me sad, it hurt me because of the way it happened. I was never eliminated, I was knocked down, I was TKO'd but I was never eliminated. I didn't know what was happening, I didn't know what I was doing,” he went on.

Oliveira shares Return Timeline and opponent that he is now aiming for

Although he has suffered such a brutal loss, the favorite of the Brazilian fan revealed that he would like to return to action before the end of the year and focus on a potential fight against Max Holloway.

On UFC 318, Holloway will defend his BMF title against Dustin Poirier, and despite the result of that fight, a rematch against 'Do Bronx' can be logical for him.

“(Max Holloway) will fight in July, I fought in June. I think November would be time … It would be a great fight. He said he would fight too, so why not?” Said Oliveira.

Nevertheless, 'blessed' is still aimed at a potential rematch against the newly crowned lightweight champion and so Oliveira may not be his top choice.
