Chelsea will be confronted with Barcelona for a third consecutive season in the semi-final of the Women's Champions League after an unbridled first half against Manchester City in Stamford Bridge, earned a narrow 3-2 total success.

Holders Barca had stuck on Wolfsburg along Wolfsburg on Thursday earlier, but Chelsea had quite more to do in the final of their four-game series against City.

Data Debrief: Blues Stuiter Back for Big Barca Test

Chelsea saw the first stage for the first time in the Women's Champions League beat by a colleague -British side, but the normal service was returned to the bridge.

And perhaps there was a positive omen to work to work for this two -legged victory. This was only the second time that Chelsea originated from a knockout draw in this competition after losing the first stage, where the other example was on its way to their only last appearance so far in 2020-21.

Of course their subsequent opponents in the Barcelona final, who blew Chelsea away because they have done this routinely in the past seasons. The blues will have to beat the best to be the best in Europe.
