Chelsea has agreed personal conditions with Ajax defender Jorrel Hato and seem ready to end their last arrival in a lush summer of expenditure, claim reports.
The blues are locked up in conversations to sign the highly rated 19-year-old, a promising young Dutch international who already has more than 100 games under his belt for his club.
His agent confirmed that the negotiations had taken place and Hato quickly connects when sealing his move to Stamford Bridge for a fee worth around € 40 million (£ 34.7 million).
According to Fabrizio Romano, who also reported that Hato has informed Ajax's Hierachy about his desire to switch to Chelsea.
The interest on the side of Enzo Maresca was made public in recent days after Hato's representative Humphry Hijman told the Dutch publication De Telegraaf: “The only thing I can say is that Jorrel is now talking to Chelsea.”
The highly rated Hato is a left power that can also operate in central defense – and he is also supposed to have been on the radars of Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Reds were enthusiastic after the departure of Jarrell Quansah for Bayer Leverkusen, as reported by Mail Sport, while Arsenal also followed him closely.
Chelsea has already made a splash in the summer market and signs Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Estevao. Noni Madueke's £ 52 million switch to Rivals Arsenal and their victory in the club World Cup helped to stimulate their treasury chest.
Ajax is said to have initially appreciated Hato in the £ 60 million region, but in a large boost for the blues the reimbursement that is being discussed is just over half of that price tag.
This summer Hato played for his country at UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where she lost 2-1 to final winners England in the semi-final.
On paper he would be able to return fierce competition for Marc Cucurella on the left or to insist on a starting role in the heart of Maresca's Backline.
Arsenal is well filled at the back with Gabriel, William Saliba and Riccardo Calafiori to be accompanied by the incoming crithic Mosquera from Valencia.
The Spaniard underwent a medical medical before its approaching relocation last week, worth £ 13 million with added bonus payments, and the Gunners seemed to have accidentally confirmed the deal after publishing an image on their club website.
The photo showed Mosquera in his training equipment during what his welcome interview seemed to be at Arsenal's HQ in London Colney.
