Chelsea defeated Palmeiras in the final of the Club World Cup before Enzo Maresca was asked about the future of Noni Madueke in the club in the midst of speculation about Arsenal's interest
Enzo Maresca has stated that every player who is unhappy in Chelsea is free to go, in the midst of speculation where Arsenal could take a step for Noni Madueke. The Gunners are considering an offer for the winger, although the £ 50 million appreciation of the blues could prove a stumbling block.
Madueke came from the bank in Chelsea's Club World Cup Quarterfinal victory over Palmeiras, while they progressed to set up a fixture with Fluminense in the next round. The Italian suggested that England International Madueke has been an important part of his team for the past 12 months.
The 23-year-old, who came to Tottenham through the ranks before he came to PSV in his teenage years, scored 11 goals and scored five assists to help the blues at Champions League qualification and the title of the Conference League.
“Noni has been very important to us during this season,” said Maresca after the victory of Chelsea. “Today he has been important again.
“But my message to the players and the club is that I only want to be players who are happy to be with us. Those who are not happy, they are free to go.
“It's not for Noni, it's for all players we have. But again, Noni has been very good during the season and very good tonight.”
Despite an impactful season of Madueke, he is already a comptation prior to the next campaign. The blues have added Joao Pedro, who made his debut against Palmeiras, to their team and met on Friday evening against Estevao for his arrival after the club World Cup.
Chelsea has also closed a deal for Jamie Gittens who arrives from Borussia Dortmund. The ex-manchester Academy product was present in Philadelphia for the victory of Chelsea.
“Jamie was here tonight, he was on the field,” said Maresca. “And he will probably be with us another day, two more days more. And then he will go a holiday and come back when we start the new season.
“Estevao, I spoke to him for the first time after the game. I told him it was the perfect night because we won, he scored. So it was perfect for us and for him.”
