Enzo Maresca suggested that his Chelsea team Joao Felix “is not wrong” after their 2-1 FA Cup defeat against Brighton on Saturday.
Joao Felix completed a Deadline day switch to Serie A -Outfit Milan, after he had only made 12 Premier League performances for the blues this season.
The Portugal attacker yielded eight goals in its 22 outings in all competitions for Chelsea, four of which were from his five games in the Europa Conference League.
He marked his debut for Milan in their Coppa Italia victory on Roma with a goal and became the first Rossoneri player who scored on his first performance since Alvaro Morata last August.
Maresca gave a rare start of Christopher Nunku in their loss of Brighton, in which both Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu are not involved because of injury.
Nunku struggled against the seagulls and failed to register a shot during the game, with Maresca's decision to allow Joao Felix to leave the club after the game.
“I don't think we'll miss Joao. He is happy there [Milan] And we are happy that he is happy, “said Maresca.
“Two injuries on the last day of the transfer window. It is a difficult one. Nico [Jackson] Could be back soon.
“Sometimes I think we have to play a few games without certain players to realize their interests.”
Saturday's defeat means that Chelsea has won only three of their last 10 games in all competitions (D3 L4) after they have won eight on the bouncer before this run.
Next Friday they will return to the Amex Stadium to take it on the Fabian Hurzeler side in the Premier League and hope to avenge their FA Cup loss.
