Chelsea get major boost as star man returns to training after six weeks out

Chelsea has received a big injury boost, because one of their stars was 'on the grass' this week before their match against Tottenham on 3 April, according to an official club announcement.

Since the beginning of the February, the absentee in the long term has been out with a hamstring problem, which has resulted in a significant dip in shape for the blues.

The side of Enzo Maresca has won four and lost three of their seven games without their star man, while Cole Palmer has also felt the absence of his teammate, allowing him to register a target contribution for more than six weeks.

But Chelsea will be rejuvenated by the return of Ster -striker Nicolas Jackson, who has returned to the training this week.

Although many blues stars have been gone to represent their countries during the international break, others have recovered from injuries, including Palmer, Noni Madueke, Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu.

On their club website, Chelsea confirmed that Jackson is also one of the many players approaching a return.

An explanation was: “Among them is striker Nicolas Jackson, who was on the grass today, and one of that Maresca had previously stated that he hoped he would be close to a comeback after this international break.”

Jackson suffered his problem on 3 February in a 2-1 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had initially hoped to have him back within a week or two of his injury, but further scans revealed that it was more serious than the club had initially thought.

Jackson is the second highest goal scorer of Chelsea in the Premier League this season, with nine in 23 performances.

He is only behind Palmer (14 goals), who also recovers from his own injury. Last week a second scan was performed on the playmaker's muscle injury, which prevented him from joining the National Team of England.

When asked if Palmer could return next week before the Chelsea match against Tottenham, Maresca replied: “I hope so, but we have to wait for the scan.”

The Italian also acknowledged that his side will struggle for goals without their trio Jackson, Palmer and Madueke, all of whom were absent for the 1-0 defeat of the blues by Arsenal before the international break.

“It's a huge difference,” Maresca added. 'If you think the three players with the most goals for us, there was not one of them in the field today. It is normal for us to be able to struggle a bit offensive. '
