Chelsea continues to take care of their company early and follow their move for Geovany Quenda by closing a deal for Dario Essugo.
Sporting CP Teenager Quenda was linked to a move to Manchester United after he had been handed over his senior debut by the current United Baas Ruben Amorim. However, Chelsea defeated them, with the 17-year-old who signs a seven-year-old deal and spends next season in Lisbon before he arrives in 2026.
Chelsea was already ready to welcome two other Wonderkids this summer, agreed with deals for Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian. Now, after they have brought the total to three new faces with £ 40m Starlet Quenda, they are ready to quickly make it four with a deal for Essugo.
Just like Quenda, Essugo is in the sports books. However, it is his shape on loan with the Spanish side Las Palmas that the blues have encouraged to dive.
According to the mail, Essugo will participate for £ 18.5 million without extra clausules or add-ons. The International Under-21 International from Portugal can mainly be seen as a in-depth midfielder for Las Palmas and scored his first senior goal in a defeat against Mallorca in November.
He joins a wealth of midfield options in Chelsea, where Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia are among the senior stars signed for substantial reimbursements. The blues also signed Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne in February, where the French younger made his Premier League debut in a victory over Southampton.
South American stars Estevao and Paez will both participate in the blues in the summer of 2025 after turning 18. Both are already the full senior internationals for Brazil and Ecuador respectively.
Chelsea still has work to do on the field to ensure the qualification of Champions League. They will end the weekend in the fourth, regardless of what happens in their London Derby in Arsenal, but the defeat will leave the chase package at a moving distance.
