Chelsea wants to conclude a deal for Borussia Dortmund -wing player Jamie Gittens, who was once in their academy, with a £ 50 million deal possible before the club World Cup
Chelsea is in conversation with Land Borussia Dortmund -Vleugel player Jamie Gittens for £ 50 million – even though he had him earlier in their academy and allowed him to leave.
In January the blues showed interest in the Englishman and now they want to close a deal before both clubs go to the club World Cup. Gittens has earned England U21 recognition and was in the books with Chelsea as a child.
It is supposed to have a release clause in the £ 50 million region, reports the Telegraph and has shown Dortmund since he came to the club in 2020 to play with one of their development teams before he rises to become regular by the ranks.
This year, despite a management change in the mid -season because of a dip in shape, Gittens played 48 times and scored 12 times when the club reached the top four. One of his strikes comes in the Champions League against Real Madrid.
Former Dortmund striker Karl Heinz-Riedle told The Sun earlier this season that Gittens has the potential to pursue the will of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham. He said: “Jamie is still not 100 percent what we expect from a world -class player – but he has all the talent to become one. He can become the next Sancho, Erling Haaland or Bellingham.”
The German side has prepared to sell their top stars for the correct reimbursement, which often makes enormous profit. They sold the will of Bellingham, Erling Haaland and Sancho for huge amounts.
The latter moved to Manchester United, but has just staged the season on loan at Chelsea, where he has been inconsistent and is now confronted with an uncertain future. Chelsea has a contractual obligation to buy him for between £ 20 million – £ 25 million because of their finish in the Premier League. If they want to withdraw, they have to pay an exit fine of £ 5 million.
The qualification of Chelsea for the Champions League on the last day of the season will help their recruitment this summer. They are ready to win the race for Liam Delap, who takes place from Ipswich Town in a £ 30 million deal to strengthen their attack.
The blues have continued to invest and have a bloated team, which means that they have to sell countless players this summer. Nevertheless, they started their recruitment and did not waste time in the early days of the summer transfer window.
