Chelsea is interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.
The Italian Shot stopper enjoyed the most successful season of his career in 2024-25 and registered 12 clean sheets when PSG marched to an Imperious Treble-winning campaign.
The fine form of Donnarumma has continued in the World Cup Club, where he has kept five clean sheets so far and only gives in.
On Sunday, the 26-year-old will get another chance to impress the hierarchy of Chelsea while PSG is confronted with the West-London club in the final of the competition.
But any formal decision about a deal will have to wait until after the World Championship of Club, according to L'Equipe.
On the part of the player, Donnarumma has publicly declared his wish to stay in PSG, despite several European clubs circling.
However, certain conditions must be met, since the Superstar keeper is aware of his value.
Donnarumma is generally considered the leader to win the Yashin trophy for the second time – a prize awarded to the best -performing goalkeeper in the world.
It has not yet been announced what PSG would demand for Donnarumma, but it would not be surprising if Chelsea were forced to break the bank for him.
Kepa Arrizabalaga remains the most expensive keeper ever, and it was the blues that he drew from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for £ 71.6 million.
The Donnarumma deal ends in the summer of 2026, but he made it clear that he wants to stay in Paris.
“My priority is to stay with PSG and sign a new deal,” he said last month. “I don't think there will be problems in the negotiations.”
Chelsea was forced to create their interest from Mike Maignan from AC Milan after they refused to meet the Serie A Club £ 20 million asking price.
