Chelsea has finally confirmed the move of Joao Felix, almost a day after the window was closed.
The Portuguese attacker did not join the blues until the summer on a permanent deal of Atletico Madrid. It is his second spell on Stamford Bridge after a loan spell during the 2022/23 campaign.
But Felix is already on the road, with a loan switch to Italian Giants AC Milan that was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon. A statement from Chelsea was: “Chelsea Forward Joao Felix will spend the rest of the season on the Serie AC Milan.
“The Portugal International has made 20 matches in all competitions and scored seven goals this season, after his summer movement to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid. Joao will now spend the rest of the 2024/25 campaign in San Siro and we look at it to support him during his loan saying. Good luck, Joao! “
Felix, 25, has made 20 performances for Chelsea so far and scored seven goals. But most of his chances have come in cup matches, with only three Premier League his name starts under Enzo Maresca.
Speaking earlier this month, the Chelsea -Baas explained that serious competition in West Londs had seen its chances decrease. He said: “No, the only thing I have said since the beginning of this season is that it is difficult to play him with so many attacking players.
“In my opinion it means that if Joao plays, this means that Cole does not play. Or, if Joao plays, he has to play with Cole, but it depends on the game. For me it is fairly simple, we have three players, but they are more or less alike; Cole, Joao and Christopher Nunku.
“Joao played some games, Christo [Nkunku] They also played and they both started against Ipswich and Southampton they played, Leicester they played. Some games can both play together, but not every game because every game is a little different. “
Felix may be in line in the coming week for his AC Milan debut. The Italian giants record it as Roma in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday evening prior to the weekend collision with Empoli.
Away from Felix Chelsea completed a number of other deals on Deadline Day. The French defender Axel Disasi was allowed to put himself on loan at Premier League -rival Aston Villa until the end of the season, while Ben Chilwell came to Crystal Palace.
Carney Chukwuemeka completed a temporary move to Borussia Dortmund, with younger Caleb Wiley Penning a loan agreement with Championship Side Watford.
