These days, Chelsea have a knack for targeting young, highly rated players, and in recent years they have turned their attention to Spain. Last summer they signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona and are now targeting a Segunda starlet.
Yeremay Hernandez has been a standout in the second tier of Spanish football so far this season. He scored eight goals and three assists for Deportivo La Coruna, but his dribbling ability stood out the most and as a result a number of top clubs have expressed their interest.
Chelsea is one, with Onda Cero (via Relevo) saying the Premier League giants have already submitted a bid for the 22-year-old. They appear determined to get a deal done quickly, which makes sense given that Serie A and Bundesliga clubs are also showing interest.
Deportivo will certainly find it difficult to retain Yeremay's services for much longer, although they hope they can keep him at least until the end of the season.
