Chelsea -midfielder Cole Palmer is a big doubt for the first matches of England under Thomas Tuchel next week after an injury in the training.
Palmer was not appointed in Chelsea's MatchDay team for the London Derby trip to Arsenal on Super Sunday, days after he was mentioned in Tuchel's first English team for World Cup qualifications against Albania and Latvia.
Palmer also missed England's November internationals and joins Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Hall, Kobbie Mainoo, John Stones and Bukayo Saka as three lion's absenteeism this month.
Speaking after the 1-0 loss of Chelsea against Arsenal, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca was asked if he would play for England next week: “I don't think it's fair. The injury is yesterday's session, it's a muscular problem.
“We don't want players to be injured, but in the case of Cole it can give him a physical and mental rest, it may be good. He needs a scan, the scan is planned for tomorrow or Monday.”
Chelsea are hopeful that Palmer will be fit to return after the international break.
