Chelsea has offered Everton midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall or Carney Chukwuemeka when they go back to Armando Broja.
Everton wants to end Broja's season rental on Goodison Park, because the Albanian attacker is on the side with an ankle band injury until April. At the end of August he arrived with Achillespeek problems and the fatal attacker played only six games for Everton, where he did not succeed in scoring or registering an assist.
The Blues want to free up its loan space to contract a new attacker to increase their weak firepower, and Chelsea is reluctant to just accept Broja back. They want Everton to take one of their surplus players on loan and offer them Dewsbury-Hall or Chukwuemeka.
Dewsbury-Hall, 26, cost Chelsea £ 30 million from Leicester last summer and scored two goals and played especially in the Europa Conference League. The 21-year-old Chukwuemeka, which cost £ 18 million in 2022, has seen even less action and the former Aston Villa midfielder played only five games this season.
Everton would prefer a striker and talk to Chelsea about sending Broja to Stamford Bridge. “At the moment I don't think a final decision has been made,” said Everton boss David Moyes.
“But I think what you suggest in the conversations we have had is that this is a possibility, but it is not yet fully confirmed.”
Everton is hindered during this period by the PSR of the Premier League and Ideally, Moyes would like a striker, a midfielder and a left back. He has some money to spend, but says that bringing in a new attacker is his priority.
“If you ask all Evertonians, I think we will probably fall short in the front line,” said Moyes. “It is therefore clear that we may want to add our attacking players, and perhaps a midfielder, if possible.
“I absolutely agree that we probably would like to strengthen the left back if possible, and perhaps want to have a supplement if that is possible, but I don't know if I can fit all of that in this moment. So I try to see where we can go and what we can do. “
