CHELSEA have offered Christopher Nkunku a sensational swap deal for Bayern Munich chief Mathys Tel.
The Blues have been monitoring £40million 19-year-old Tel since last summer.
According to The Mail, the West Londoners made inquiries for the winger during the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Bayern are keen to bring 27-year-old Nkunku back to Germany after his stunning four-year spell at RB Leipzig.
And Bild reporter Christian Falk claims Chelsea have proposed a swap deal.
The Premier League giants have offered the France international to Bayern in exchange for his younger compatriot.
Tel has seen his playing time at the Allianz Arena limited with just twelve appearances in all competitions to his name.
But Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund insists the club wants to keep the France Under-21 international.
Freund said: “Mathys is a great talent and should play an important role for us.
“Our clear goal is for Mathys to break through with us. If a player is dissatisfied, we can of course talk about it. But we are very happy with him.”
Nkunku, on the other hand, has failed to cement a place in Enzo Maresca's starting line-up as Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer prove more clinical.
The versatile forward has scored just two goals in 18 Premier League appearances.
However, the Frenchman has scored a total of thirteen goals and four assists in 28 games in all competitions.
However, Chelsea are keeping all options open as it is often difficult to land big goals during the winter market.
That's why club chiefs are also keeping an eye on Ipswich Town's in-form star Liam Delap.
Nevertheless, Chelsea are prioritizing a centre-back, with Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi emerging as their top target.
