Dana White calls on Mark Zuckerberg to help him fix major UFC issue after Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones trails Alex Pereira in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings following his third-round finish against heavyweight legend Stipe Miocic.

'Bones' earned his second victory in the land of giants last Saturday, retaining his title after stabbing Stipe Miocic with a spinning kick to the body.

Not only that, but the 37-year-old's destructive performance at UFC 309 has, in the eyes of most fans, cemented his status as the greatest MMA fighter of all time.

Yet Jon Jones still remains one spot behind lightweight king Islam Makhachev on the UFC's pound-for-pound list, with Dana White now taking a closer look at his promotion's rankings.

Dana White is destroying the UFC rankings for holding Islam Makhachev over Jon Jones

White has consistently pushed for Jones to be placed above Makhachev in the poundage rankings, even before the American defended his first heavyweight title.

After all, the two-division champion has enjoyed a scintillating string of wins, beating the likes of Daniel Cormier and Vitor Belfort at 205 pounds.

Makhachev, meanwhile, also has an exceptionally impressive resume, with the UFC lightweight champion defeating Dustin Poirier, Alexander Volkanovski and Charles Oliveira in his last four outings.

However, White remains convinced that Jones' body of work should put him at the top of the pound-for-pound list, even though Makhachev has faced more opposition in recent years.

As for light heavyweight champion Pereira, you could say he too has a remarkably strong claim to be considered the best fighter.

And so White has maintained his frustration with the panel of media members responsible for organizing the UFC rankings.

On his Instagram story he said: “I need to get rid of these CLOWNS!”

The pound-for-pound rankings are obviously wildly subjective and lend themselves to endless debates among fight fans.

And yet White has expressed a desire to introduce an advanced AI system, removing the room for human error.

He has even enlisted the services of Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, with the tech genius potentially representing a solution to his problem.

But even with an AI system, you'd assume that the fierce debates over rankings won't exactly cease to exist.
