Chelsea has innovated their interest in Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, while according to a report they are watching a slow Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen.
The blues have invested millions in their team since the Boehly-Clearlake takeover in 2022, but defensive reinforcements remain of the utmost importance.
The club is linked to a number of center backs in recent windows, including Huijsen who has attracted interest from top European clubs after his amazing campaign with the Cherries.
According to Sport, Chelsea is ready to go back for Kounde, who tried to sign in 2022 from Seville before completing a relocation of £ 46 million to Barcelona.
The report claims that the club in particular likes to add a defender who is able to offer coverage on full back. The Frenchman was used almost exclusively in this position for the Laliga Giants.
His redeployment in the flank came for the first time under the former Barca manager Xavi, but the current head coach Hansi Flick immediately returned the 26-year-old.
Kounde is supposed to be happy in Catalonia and has a contract until 2026.
The news comes after the reports that the blues are prepared this summer to pay the chances for Cherries -defender Huijsen.
Madrid has emerged as the most likely destination for the 19-year-old, who made his senior debut for Spain against the Netherlands, the land of his birth, last week.
He does not only seem to be on his way to becoming one of the world's most important centerbacks, but the Ball-Play defender is supposed to have a release clause of just £ 50 million.
Of course he is on the radar of Los Blancos, who, according to the Spanish Outlet Cadena Ser Huijsen's father, recently entertained on their Valdebebas training area where he had a serendipitarian meeting with club president Florentino Perez.
All paths seem to lead to the Bernabeu, however, according to the outlet, Chelsea are ready to try their luck when torpedoing the move and are willing to offer wages that are much higher than what is offered in Madrid.
