Women's Super League champions Chelsea have confirmed the signing of England -midfielder Keira Walsh.
The former player of Manchester City returns to the English top flight after having spent two and a half seasons in Spain, where she secured two League F titles and back-to-back Champions League titles, along with winning the Copa De la Reina once and the supercopa de Espana Femenina three times.
She becomes the third signing of the WSL leaders of the transfer star of January after defender Naomi Girma of the United States, who became a member of the blues for a reported world record compensation of £ 900,000, and goalkeeper Femke Liefing.
“It's incredible. I am very happy to be here and very excited to start,” said Walsh.
“You look at the history of the trophies that Chelsea has won, and I am an ambitious player and person, so it fits well for me.”
Walsh came through the ranks at Blackburn Rovers before signing for City in 2014 and won the WSL in 2016 together with three FA Cups and four competition cups during her eight -year stay.

“It was a privilege to be part of such a special group of players, where unforgettable moments were shared on and next to the field.”
Walsh was proclaimed the player of the match in the final against Germany, while England won the European championship in 2022, while she also helped the Nation to reach the World Cup final the following year.
