Chelsea star shows true colours with gesture to Abdukodir Khusanov

Nicolas Jackson showed a touch of class at Premier League Newby Abdukodir Khusanov during the collision of Manchester City with Chelsea.

The 20-year-old became the first Uzbeek to become a member of a Premier League club when he signed earlier this month for the Sky Blues van Lens in a reported deal of £ 33.8 million. The middle half had only made 31 performances for Lens before he signed up on the dotted line for City, which led to some fans questioning his capacities prior to his debut against Chelsea, given his lack of experience.

The young person eventually went to a nightmare start during the luminaire and challenged Jackson in the air in a routine clearance before he completely missed the ball. Faced with his own goal, he then tried to go the ball back to Edererson, but made minimal contact, so Jackson could intercept and intercepted Noni Madueke to put it in the back of the net played with just three minutes.

Khusanov looked incredibly discouraged by the fault and was visibly frustrated with his head down while Madueke drove to the Etihad in the celebration. Things then went from bad to worse for the debutant, because he was booked in the next minute after giving possession for an error on Cole Palmer.

However, Jackson showed a certain degree of attentiveness for the opponent, while giving him a reassuring tang on the belly that was picked up by fans who applauded him for the gesture. And despite a rough start, Khusanov improved as time passed and in the end it became the Stadsdag on a home floor when they ended the game as 3-1 victors.

Josko Gvardiol leveled the game just before half -time when a deep ball from Ilkay Gundogan found the path of Matheus Nunes, who burst behind the back line before getting a shot at Robert Sanchez. Gvardiol was there to pick up the leftovers from Save, to go home to drag the city back.

Khusanov saw his debut coming to an end, but ten minutes in the second half when he was replaced by John Stones. Erling Haaland then made 2-1 to City at 68 minutes when Sanchez came from his line to support Trevoh Chalobah – only to be lobed by the Norwegian powerhouse.

Phil Foden crossed the game with another three minutes and burst through the middle of the field during the break before he slid the ball home to the left of Sanchez. Pep Guardiola will hope that Khusanov's fault will not have hit him too much, since he might again be confident in the central half for the collision of the city with Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday evening (January 19).

Nathan Ake is currently being sidelined with a muscular injury and with an important collision with Arsenal to come on Sunday (2 February), Guardiola will make decisions. Before that, the last league match of the City of the Champions League with Bruges is an affair on a brand or break.

As it looks now, City will not be eligible for the knockout phases of the tournament, because they are currently 25th in the rankings, two points behind the 24th VFB Stuttgart. If they continue to the play-off round, they have to beat Bruges, while they also rely on Stuttgart, Sporting CP, PSG or Benfica to drop points.
