Chelsea stars get suited and booted for club’s end-of-season awards party

The stars of Chelsea were dressed on Sunday evening for the Nines before the end of the club at the final season awards while a hero went home with two prizes.

Players of the men's and DameS teams, as well as the Academy, arrived on Sunday evening in the chic Grosvenor House in Mayfair, Central London.

It only came a few hours after Chelsea scored a statement with 3-1 victory over Premier League champions Liverpool to strengthen their hunt for a Champions League place.

While the men of Enzo Maresca are satisfied with a top-five place and Europe Conference League win, Sonia Bompastor's side has already won the Women's Super League and League Cup and reached the semi-final of the Champions League.

Moises Caicedo won two prizes when he was named player of the season for men's players and voted by fans as men's player of the season.

He joins favorites such as Eden Hazard, Thiago Silva and Cole Palmer to be recognized with both awards in the same season after starting every competition match so far.

“Caicedo leads the way for us in terms of successful tackles and intercepting, and is in the top ten of the Premier League for both,” Chelsea noted on their club website.

'He has cut a goal and also three assists, which means we are a point to Manchester United with an excellent volley.

Caicedo's reliability and All-Action-Middenveld game has been a key factor in our season and he has also written the side occasionally, who further demonstrates his leadership qualities.

Erin Cuthbert won the women's player of the season for the second time in a season in which she surpassed the 250 performances for the blues.

Chelsea wrote: 'The 26-year-old also delivered a crucial moment in the title race at the end of March. It was a goal that Cuthbert summarized. She put her head in where it hurts to win our WSL game in Man City dramatically and to help us take a big step in the direction of our sixth straight competition crown. '

In the meantime, Nathalie Bjorn took home the player of the women's players of the season after he was a defensive rock in her first full season in the club.

“She has supplied countless blocks and tackles to maintain clean sheets and show her technical quality by starting attacks with pinpoint fainting from behind,” said Chelsea.

Fans will want to keep an eye on Tyrique George and Lola Brown, who won the respective Academy player of the season prizes after they were broken into the first team.

George, 19 made 22 performances and served his first senior goal last month, while Brown, 17, also made a handful of trips for the women's side.

Eventually Millie Bright and Marcus Bettinelli were named PFA Community Champions for their work at the Chelsea Foundation.
