Enzo Fernandez scored his fifth Premier League goal of the season on Thursday evening to give Chelsea a narrow 1-0 win over London Rivals Tottenham Tottenham on Stamford Bridge.
The 50th minute of the Argentinian 50th minute restored the place of Chelsea in the top four of the Premier League and moved a point for the ruling champions Manchester City, who won 2-0 about Leicester on Wednesday.
Moises Caicedo thought he had doubled Chelsea's lead on sensational fashion halfway through the second half, but his stunning volley was suspended after a long VAR assessment after Levi Colwill proved to be in an offside position.
Spurs replacement Pape Matar Sarr also found the back of Robert Sanchez's network with a speculative strike of a distance, but referee Craig Pawson punished the midfielder for an error on Caicedo after a second look at the incident on the pitchside monitor.
Tottenham remained rooted in 14th place after the disappointing defeat on Stamford Bridge, three points behind Manchester United above them.
Aadam Patel from Mail Sport was on Stamford Bridge at night to assess the performances of the players in the London Derby.
Chelsea (4-2-3-1)
Robert Sanchez 6
Was spared when the goal of Pape Sarr controversially was not allowed. The most relieved man in Stamford Bridge. Then he made an excellent salvation to deny the son.
Malo Gusto 7.5
Preference for Reece James and was brilliant, so the son stopped most of the evening. Also came close to scoring, but his efforts went in the side.
Trevoh Chalobah 6.5
Played a brilliant long ball to Nicolas Jackson in the first minute and was defensively healthy, although a handball screamed in the second half.
Levi Colwill 6.5
Did it go well next to Chalobah when Chelsea held a clean slate, but was the reason why Caicedo's brilliant volley was rejected because he was marginal offside.
Marc Cucurella 7
A typically reliable display, up and down the left flank. Make sure he had the right boots after his horror show the last time against Spurs.
Moises Caicedo 7
Take an early blow but fought through and scored a brilliant volley, only to be excluded by VAR. Perhaps good luck to get the mistake of the non -accessible goal of SARR.
Enzo Fernandez 7.5
Was comfortably in possession and Timed his run to the perfection for the opening goal with a ball head. The match winner.
Pedro Neto 6
Just like Jadon Sancho, a number of considerable moments had the ball, but has to offer more in the last third part.
Cole Palmer 8
Back from an injury and looked refreshed, constantly stood on the ball and formed a threat. Also played a nice ball to get the assist for the goal of Fernandez and was a class apart.
Jadon Sancho 6
Told by Enzo Maresca that he needed more targets and was refused by a brilliant stop from Vicario. Struggled to get the spence better and was replaced by Noni Madueke.
Nicolas Jackson 6.5
Another player back from an injury and he bullyed the Spurs defenders everywhere, but was missing that calm for the goal, missed an early chance and then flared over.
Replacement
Noni Madueke 6
Returned from an injury and replaced Sancho in the 68th minute.
Reece James NVT
On for Jackson in the 82nd minute.
Tosin Adarabioyo NVT
Replace Palmer in extra time.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall NVT
Standed up for Fernandez in injury time.
Tottenham (4-3-3)
Guglielmo Vicario 6
Had a very shaky start, with a questionable distribution, but made some good saves to keep tracks in the game. Could not do anything to keep Fernandez's goal out.
Djed Spence 6.5
Was very impressive on the right and made it difficult for Sancho to have a real influence on the game. A rare positive for traces.
Cristian Romero 5.5
Initially struggled with the Highline and was booked for pushing Colwill in the first half, which caused a melee between the two sets of players. Improved in the second half.
Micky van de Ven 5.5
Returned from an injury and was immediately involved, with his attempted clearance by Jackson and crashed against the pole. In the goal of No Man for the goal of Chelsea.
Destiny Udogie 5
Very sloppy and failed to follow Fernandez's Run for the goal. Not at all joining Son Down the Links Flank. A bad evening for the 22-year-old
Rodrigo Bentancur 6
One more that fought defensively, but hardly offered anything in the future, with the midfield of Chelsea so much more coherent.
Lucas Bergvall 6
Fought but failed to really have a real control over the game and was replaced by Pape Sarr just after the hour.
James Maddison 5.5
Back in the starting eleven and part of a Spurs -Middenveld trio that simply could not deal with the ruthless pressure of Chelsea. Undoubtedly should have been collected instead of mountain barrier.
Wilson Odobert 5.5
A bit of a nothing to perform and replaced by Brennan Johnson in the 64th minute, who asked Chelsea so many more questions.
Son Heung-Min 6
Back in the early eleven and largely quiet until his golden chance, when he was refused by a brilliant stop from Sanchez.
Dominic Solanke 6
Only the 21 touches over 90 minutes, but in honesty he had minimal service throughout the evening.
Replacement
Brennan Johnson 6.5
Odobert replaced in the 64th minute.
Pape Matar Sarr 6
Standed up for mountain barrier and so bad luck not to get the level.
Pedro Porro NVT
Waut in the 88th minute Van de Ven.
Mathys Tel NVT
Replace Maddison in the 88th minute.
