Enzo Maresca says Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka are likely to be the first Chelsea players to ask to leave in January due to their lack of playing time.
England left-back Chilwell has made just one appearance this season and that was as a half-time substitute in a 5-0 win over Barrow in the Carabao Cup.
The 27-year-old trained separately at the start of the season as he looked to make a move away from the club, but that didn't materialize and he has been part of the first-team training ever since.
In the meantime, Chukwuemeka was mainly active in the Conference League. He started once in the league and came off the bench three times.
Maresca said ahead of Chelsea's trip to Everton on Sunday: “There are players who unfortunately haven't played much with us in all competitions, such as (Ben) Chilwell and Carney (Chukwuemeka).
'They'll probably be the first [to say] that they want to leave because they train every day, because they want to play matches and if they don't play matches, they are probably thinking about leaving.
“For every player the situation is a little different, so we'll see if a few come knocking on the door to say 'I want to leave' or something like that. We'll try to find a solution.”
Maresca has encouraged his Chelsea youngsters to remain in the first team but has not ruled out striker Marc Guiu, who scored a hat-trick in the club's 5-1 win over January loan signing Shamrock Rovers on Thursday evening.
“I think with young players like Marc (Guiu), like Josh (Acheampong), like Ty (Tyrique George), I think it's the best for them to be with us,” Maresca said.
“Every day they can understand how we want to play, they can grow, we can teach them how we want them to play, so I think it's better if they stay with us.
“Then it also depends a bit on the wishes of the players. If Marc's wish in this case is to get more minutes and play more, then we will sit down with him and decide together.”
