With a year to walk his Milan contract, France goalkeeper Maignan emerged as a target for Chelsea.
The Daily Mail, however, says that Chelsea sees the £ 25 million appreciation of Milan as too rich, given his contract status.
Instead, Chelsea assesses the deal closer to £ 10 million, knowing that they can protect Maignan for a pre-contract within six months and sign it for nothing next summer.
Chelsea has five keepers in their books, Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Mike Penders and Kepa Arrizabalaga, but nobody has convinced management of their long -term prospects.
Maignan helped Milan last season to the Serie A title in 2022 and also the Supercoppa Italiana.
