There is an assumption that Andrey Santos (20) would return to Chelsea in the summer after a very successful loan spell at partner Club RC Strassburg ALS, maybe not. The Brazilian hinted on a decision to take in the near future during an interview with ESPN.
Santos joined Strasbourg on loan for the second half of last season, flourishing and then saw his stay in Alsace for another year. He cemented his reputation during his first full season in France as one of the most promising and dynamic box-to-box midfielders in Europe.
It is therefore logical that he would return to Chelsea in the summer and would be integrated into the arrangement of the first team. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that this was indeed the intention last week. Santos' comments on ESPN, however, have had a sense of doubt.
On a return to Stamford Bridge, the midfielder said: “Of course you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea. You dream of that moment, but I think you must have a clear head at the moment, make the season here (Strasbourg) (Strasbourg) and make the best choice when the Brazilian said.
He added: “I don't think a specific decision has been made. Nobody started talking to me directly. Everything is in the hands of the club and my agents.”
