Chelsea’s squad depth comes in clutch as Arsenal, Man Utd pick up ruthless wins

The team depth of Chelsea will bring them to the title

The victory of Chelsea in Man City was a clear indicator for their immense team depth.

Sonia Bompastor has made six changes from midweek, the handing over of WSL starts with usual substitutes such as Aggie Beever-Jones, Mika Hamano and Oriane Jean-Francois.

The first half turned out to be in the changes. It was sometimes heavy and pedestrians – words that we don't often associate with Chelsea. A referee controversy and the width of a pole prevented them from being 3-0 during the break.

But not for the first time this season, Bompastor needed a bombastic half-time team conversation. It had the desired effect, with Beever -Jones – one of the players offered her chance to help the team – to equalize after the break.

And while the second half went on, it also put the pressure on, and the talent of the bank kept coming. Keira Walsh, Mayra Ramirez and winning goal scorer in Cuthbert to name three.

There was also a return of an ACL for Mia Fischel, and that is before we even remember that Sam Kerr still has to come back from the same injury.

Chelsea gets the job done when they have to in the WSL, and Squad rotation helps to cope with a list of heavy fixture. It is the characteristic of champions when everyone makes their bit.

Now the same mentality must be applied in the MAN City Final on Thursday if Chelsea can cancel out a 2-0 deficit in the Champions League. Every player is needed again. Charlotte Moeras

Man utd ruthless if they keep the heat on arsenal

Although Chelsea has been a class apart this period, the battle for who will end is second for the chosen champions in recent months.

Arsenal won 10 of their last 11 games – with last place on Saturday, when they hit Liverpool 4-0 and moved three points from their nearest rivals.

But Man Utd corresponded to the Gunners result on Sunday, when they defeated Aston Villa with the same score. The Villans are struggling, only one point above the soil club Crystal Palace, and manager Natalia Arroyo admitted after the game that they have little confidence. Who can blame them?

Yet Marc Skinner fully benefited, with a 40-year Screamer from Grace Clinton the choice of the goals in Villa Park. Arsenal is seven better than united in terms of target difference, so matching it was important.

It is as you were with only five games left to play this season.

Kerolin turns out to be a difficult customer for Bompastor's Blues

Kerolin has been in and out of the MAN City team since he came to North Carolina Courage in January and although she is impressed by the off, without a regular starting spot that is still nailed, the Brazil did not have too many opportunities to have a substantial impact.

In four of her 11 performances so far she has played 15 minutes or less, but she started the last two – both against Chelsea – and gets away with a goal and an assist.

In Wednesday's Champions League quarterfinals first stage against the blues, she founded Vivianne Miedema to score her second in a 2-0 win and on Sunday she closed an excellent first half of the first half with her first WSL goal.

She gave Niamh Charles Nightmares when she got away twice on the right within the first half hour and when she did the same one third time, the Belsea backline did not put a foot in, so she could cool the opening goal in the top left corner.

The 25-year-old was a lot quieter after the break when the League leaders turned the screw and eventually came to the top, but she turned out to be a difficult customer for the break and the blues will have to be care of her again in the crucial second stage of that European quarterfinals on Thursday evening.

Are Arsenal getting shape at the right time?

Five is the fashion word – five games to go in the WSL and Arsenal moved five points behind Chelsea with their victory against Liverpool – before the blues raised it again on Sunday.

Unfortunately it was not a 5-0 score, but it could have been. The Gunners had the opportunities to fully rug the Reds and collect 18 shots.

It was a deviation from a few UIT-sorts performance in recent weeks. The Golf under Renee Sleesers would not last long, but the drop -off had come in a harmful time -leaving the FA Cup to Liverpool two weeks ago and losing the first stage of their Champions League quart finale against Real Madrid in midweek.

Arsenal needed a moral strengthening of the victory prior to the home base on Wednesday, and that is exactly what they did.

The football was exactly the style arsenal because and is known for – Ball Dominant, Slick Passing, excellent team movements and some beautiful goals. Liverpool has never made a chance when every player worked at the top of their game, collective and individually.

If they can replicate that in the coming days and weeks, there is not only a chance of another European semi -final, but the pressure on Chelsea will rise.

Arsenal also has a friendly WSL -Run. Three of their last five games are against the current bottom three, with Brighton and Man Utd to close.

SLESS told Sky Sports that the Gunners would be there for Chelsea's briefs, but the first step to title Thoughts must be their own consistency. Saturday's victory was a positive first step. Charlotte Marsh

Liverpool has treated harsh reality control against Arsenal

Liverpool received a hard reality check on Saturday.

Four victories of four since Amber Whiteley was named because the interim was an impressive form of shape, but there was a wave in the class with the Emirates.

In addition to one or two rising runs from Cornelia Kapocs, the Reds were in second place over the entire fixture.

In the short spells of relief they had from Arsenal's attack, Liverpool players continued to be isolated and therefore lacked ideas.

The Scoreline can even flatter the version. It could have been a lot, much worse.

Caitlin Foord, who scored the first goal, outlined that Arsenal had a “point to prove” after a disappointing few weeks, including a defeat against Liverpool in the FA Cup, and it seemed as if they were doing that tonight.

Liverpool is not a bad team, but they are still not a road from competing with the very best teams in the WSL.Patrick Rowe

Crystal Palace undo defense

Crystal Palace hoped to build on a 3-1 victory against relegation-rivalen Aston Villa last weekend, who may have pulled them from the bottom of the table.

And for the most part, Crystal Palace matched Everton. They had the better openings of the first half – late aside – and statistically there was no huge gap in the numbers.

The Eagles were by no means exaggerated and a 3-0 defeat was perhaps hard for them. But they were demonstrably surpassed by a team that is better adapted to the WSL.

Although the attacking game was good – Clarissa Lary is a particularly bright spot – it was the defense for all three goals a clear sign that there is still much to learn. It is not surprising for a team that has admitted 43 times this season – the most in the WSL.

The attempts to remove the line for the opener were confused and weak. Josie Green had no idea that Sara Holmgaard was just behind her for the second, and Kelly Gago was wide open for a ball over the top. Defenders were out of position and could not stop her late third.

There were also good moments in the defense – Lily Woodham scored balls in the right channel in the first half – but Everton took advantage of those naive moments to get away with the points.

Crystal Palace remains a point behind Aston Villa, and relegation is by no means a foregone dealer. But the points for improvement are clear whether they should survive the drop. Charlotte Moeras
