Chloe Kelly is left OUT of Lionesses’ squad – as Sarina Wiegman tells the new Arsenal star to ‘show what you’re about’

Chloe Kelly has been omitted from the Sarina Wiegman team for the upcoming Nations League matches of the Lionesses against Portugal and Spain, where the boss of England says that the winger has 'not played enough' to justify her inclusion.

“In my opinion she didn't play enough,” said Wiegman. “Start playing and show what you are about, and then we have that conversation again.”

She added: “We had a good conversation yesterday and she is not out for the euros … we will visit it again.”

Elsewhere, Chelsea duo Lauren James and Niamh Charles returned to the team, while Nikita Parris from Brighton has also received a first call-up since November 2022.

The most important players Georgia Stanway, Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp continue to miss because of their respective injuries, but there is a silver lining with the return of Ella Toone, who missed the last camp because of a calf injury.

The Lionesses will travel to the Algarve travels to Portugal on Friday 21 February for the European champions Spain on Wembley on Wednesday 26 February, in what is invoiced as an exciting repetition of the World Cup Final of 2023, which eventually England 1- 0.
