Chris Curtis and Sean Strickland Punished by NSAC after viral fight on Tuff-n-supl 145

Hernandez defended surprisingly Strickland and Curtis against potential punishment of NSAC in the hours after the incident. Despite the plea of Hernandez, Strickland and Curtis paid a steep price for their promotions at Tuff-n-supl 145.

In a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani show, Curtis explained how the recent meetings of his and Strickland with NSAC took place after they had charged the cage.

“We have had some very interesting meetings [NSAC]”Curtis said.

“Nevada came down to us a bit. It is one of those things they understand how the situation got out of hand, but they also said it was unacceptable. So I got a punishment for it, Sean was punished for it, so at that moment you have to take your licks and you can't really argue.

“Yes, we had finished – but we could have made different choices. So I was not angry about it at all … I finally paid a decent little cent for it. I received a fine, Sean received a number of other things that I tell people about it at some point, I won't get his personal business. But I got an interesting fine,” Curtis went on.

“I am not excluded from turns, mine was a bit different than that of Sean. It's going well, they just brought me with a nice little bit.”

At present, Strickland has not announced a possible suspension of NSAC from NSAC after the incident. Strickland has not fought anymore since a loss of the middleweight title for Dricus du Plessis on UFC 312, and will not be booked for his next fight.

Curtis beat Max Griffin in UFC Nashville last Saturday in his return to the Welterweight Division of the UFC. Curtis Vicente Luque called in the interview mentioned above, but the return time line of his teammate remains a mystery.

Sean Strickland vs. Israel Adesanya Rematch talks uncertain after NSAC punishment

Strickland has recently been linked to a possible rematch with Israel Adesanya for the next fight of both former title holders. Adesanya was finished earlier this year by Nassourdine Imavov and shouted Strickland during an interview at the UFC Hall of Fame Red Carpet.

The last victory of Strickland came against the former title -seconder Paulo Costa on UFC 302 last year. He has lost two of his last three fights.

As far as the next step is for Curtis, he could possibly return against Luque by the end of the year in a matchup between two veterinarians for welter weight.
