The USMNT forward has recaptured his best form in Italy and can take the Supercoppa Italia to the next level with a victory over Inter Milan on Monday.
AC Milan will take on Inter Milan in the Supercoppa Italia final on Monday, a chance for Christian Pulisic to win his first silver medal with the Italian club.
Pulisic has rediscovered his best form in Milan. He became a key player for the Rossoneri, helping them to a second-place finish in Serie A last season. That saw Milan qualify for the mid-season Supercoppa Italia – played in Saudi Arabia – and he helped them through to the final.
His side lost to Juventus in the semi-finals, but Pulisic threw away a second-half penalty to level the match before a Federico Gatti own goal put Milan ahead. That made for an all-Milan affair in the final, a meeting between the two best teams in Italy from the previous season.
Pulisic bounces back from injury concerns
After a largely disappointing spell in the Premier League with Chelsea, the move to Milan offered Pulisic the chance to rebuild his career. It is an opportunity he has seized with both hands.
In 2023/24 he scored 15 goals in all competitions, his highest-scoring season ever, and was named in the Serie A Team of the Season. Despite suffering injuries this year, he has continued to maintain impressive productivity, scoring nine goals in 21 games so far.
The demands at AC Milan are high, and the silverware is always central to one of the most successful teams in European football. The continental competitions in particular are a top priority and Pulisic admitted last month that this is built into the club's ethos.
“This is a club that always strives for success,” he explained in an interview with UEFA. “We want to win titles. I think you can feel that in the environment. It is an important aspect of this club. With all its history, when you step onto the training pitch you feel that we are here to enjoy ourselves, but we want to win.”
