Chuck Liddell became UFC champion with Brutal Ko
Couture had the right to feel confident for his rematch with Chuck Liddell, which he stopped with strikes when they first fought at UFC 43 in June 2003.
'The Natural' came from a new impressive TKO victory when he was again matched against Liddell. First they squared as coaches on the Ultimate Fighter 1 before they settled their rivalry in the Octagon on UFC 52 in April 2005.
Liddell received revenge when he eliminated couture in the third round of their Rematch.
Couture was trapped with a clean right hand while storming at his rival with wild bumps. After he had been couture, Liddell followed him to the floor and excluded his lights with follow-up shots before he walked away to celebrate one of the biggest victories of his Hall of Fame career.
Official Couture Seven knockout losses suffered during his 30-fighter run in sport. But after fighting Brock Lesnar, Vitor Belfort, James Toney and Crane kicked by Lyoto Machida, the 61-year-old insists that Liddell is the only man who has ever really eliminated him.

Last year Couture sat down for an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
The former two-weight UFC champion reminded his Rematch with Liddell, whom he credits as the most difficult to hit opponent he once fought in MMA.
“I was only eliminated once, that was Chuck Liddell the second time we agreed,” Couture told Bloody Elbow's James Sweetnam.
“I have flashed a few times. Brock flashed me. I was beaten a few times on my Keister where the second touches you on the deck that you wake up, and you know where you are.
“That second Chuck fight is the only time I have been struck unconscious, and you lose that little time.
“It's a strange experience. One second, you're there, next time, “what happened? Where is everyone going? “It was certainly a unique one. '
