Chuck 'The Iceman' Liddell calls his favorite active UFC champion
Former UFC hunter Jake Shields recently welcomed Liddell on his podcast to talk about everything, from fighting on the street as a teenager to claiming the world championship gold.
Towards the end of their conversation, which is definitely worth listening to completely, Shields asked of Chuck Liddell had a certain preference for one of the active stars of the UFC.
'I like it [Alex] Pereira. I really like him, man, he is so relaxed, so calm – and he is a good guy … I love his attitude, and I like how he fights. He is a nice guy.
“But I love many hunters, there are many tough guys who are there, and many nice fights to see.”
Liddell actually came to Alex Pereira in training camp for his UFC 287 confrontation with Israel Adesanya and in an earlier interview revealed what he would do if he had fought 'Patan' in his Prime.
“I would struggle him,” laughed the former champion and explained in no uncertain terms: “I mean if you [really] I want to know, my strategy would be to bring it down and we would see what happened [from there] …
“I would not want to stand with him, I mean, I would try to land something, but I would struggle a lot.”
That is the same game plan that fans expect from the next opponent of Alex Pereira, with his long -awaited return to the Octagon set for March 8.
Alex Pereira's next title fight takes place at UFC 313 in Las Vegas
'Patan' returns to action in just a few weeks' time; In the main event of UFC 313 against number one ranked light heavyweight competition, Magomed Ankalaev.
Although Ankalaev is seen on a large scale as his most difficult test so far on 205 pounds, Pereira remains a considerable favorite to retain his championship title on March 8 in Las Vegas.
Two weeks out about 74% of the picks of tapology go to the advantage of the Brazilian, the vast majority of which predicts that 'Patan' will win via KO/TKO.
However, there is some concern that Pereira may not take this incoming title fight as serious as he should, where Daniel Cormier wonders whether Pereira is fully focused on the task that must be performed.
“Don't worry, Daniel Cormier, we work here,” said Pereira in answer, with later videos shared with his Instagram page with the Brazilian training that Takedown defense shows with coach Glover Teixeira.
UFC 313: Pereira vs Ankalaev will go live from the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday 8 March.
