Chuck Liddell made a monumental mistake in his first meeting with Randy Couture, who gave 'The Natural' a huge boost in confidence.
On June 6, 2003 'The Ice Man' ran into each other with a bona fide MMA icon in a blockbuster at UFC 43, in the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
In the third round, Couture turned out to be too much for his rival and he stopped him with brutal soil and pound.
However, he may not have been able to get that interruption if his opponent had not given him the hope that it was possible.

Randy Couture's corner knew that Chuck Liddell was tired
In his amazing career, Chuck Liddell confirmed his status as one of the most ferocious competitors in the UFC history.
With Dynamite Power, the American was able to give everyone he touched, unconscious with just one shot. Moreover, he had the confidence to go with it. After all, Liddell is a man who pretty openly says that he has defeated Mike Tyson in a street fight.
However, he did not see his usual bravado against Randy Couture and it turned out to be undone.
In an episode of the Podcast of Jake Shields' Fight Back, he explained: “After the first fight I spoke with Randy's corner when I lost to Randy. In the run -up to that fight, I hurt my knee while I was training.
“So I was healthy when I arrived at the fight. But I hadn't struggled all the time, so my wrestling condition was eliminated.
“When I went in there, I died. So I was in the corner [looking exhausted]. His corner told me that Randy was ready with the third round. And then they looked at me and said, “Hey, look at Chuck, he is ready, keep pushing, he is tired.”
“That stayed with me, I always said that evening. I tell people: “Don't show them that you're tired.” If you show me that you are tired, I will never get tired. “
The couple would have two more fights, where Liddell both wins via Ko.
Was Chuck Liddell ever confronted the largest puncher Randy Couture?
In his remarkable time that competed in MMA, Couture put his place among the biggest to do it ever.
With sublime wrestling skills and a relentless will to win, the Grapppler Championship was caught in two weight distributions.
That is why it is obvious that the UFC Hall of Famer was dealing with the firepower of an abundance of legends.
Now Couture has confirmed whether Liddell was the most difficult batter of all.
